The science teaching staff at Manhattan Village Academy has set a high standard for science education. We have developed and implemented a four year program where each grade builds upon the skills and knowledge of the year before. We place an emphasis on student centered learning based on inquiry using critical thinking skills. What does that mean to our students? They learn by doing and thinking about why the experience happened the way it did.

In the past three years our Living Environment Regents scores have gone up and now over 90% of the freshmen pass on their first attempt. Our goal is to get more students to pass two science regents which will qualify them for an advanced regents diploma. Our efforts currently are focused on getting more 10th grade students to take and pass the Earth Science regents exam in June.
